Bailemos Juntos (Dancing Together) is a community-based psychosocial intervention designed to improve youth mental health through the culturally resonant practice of Salsa Rueda de Casino, guided reflection circles, and a gamified participation model. The program targets youth and their families across three cycles over 18 months, fostering socio-emotional development, family communication, and community engagement in historically underserved areas. This innovation will test the effectiveness of combining collective dance and psychosocial learning as a strategy to strengthen emotional regulation, reduce intra-family tension, and increase youth participation in well-being activities.
Through gamification, the project aims to motivate participation and reduce stigma around mental health, with the long-term potential to evolve into a scalable digital platform. Gamification will be integrated through a progressive level system—Explorer, Walker, Builder, Guardian, and Legacy Inspirer—where participants unlock artistic, emotional, social, family, and organizational skills by completing real-world challenges and earning digital badges, tracked through an interactive platform.
