Sekolah Aman is a gender-transformative, school-based bullying prevention and adolescent mental health program implemented by PKBI Daerah Bali in 6 regions of Bali. The initiative aims to create safe, inclusive, and supportive school environments by addressing harmful gender norms, preventing bullying, and promoting mental well-being among adolescents. It uses participatory and human-centred design approaches, with ongoing monitoring to ensure relevance and sustainability.

The program integrates four main components:

  • Family Engagement: involving parents and caregivers to strengthen understanding, empathy, and support for adolescents.
  • Teacher Training: equipping educators with skills to recognize, prevent, and respond to bullying and gender-based violence.
  • Youth Leadership: empowering students to become peer leaders and change agents in fostering a positive school climate.
  • Referral Systems: involving health providers and school representatives, ensuring clear pathways for students to access mental health and psychosocial support.
