Consultancy Opportunity
Grand Challenges Canada (GCC) and Fondation Botnar seek evaluators for the Being Initiative, which focuses on improving youth mental health and wellbeing globally through research, innovation and ecosystem building.

Purpose:
Assess how effectively the Being Initiative is:
- Selecting and supporting mental health innovations
- Progressing toward its goals and long-term impact
- Influencing key players in the global mental health field
Findings will guide program improvements and objectives.
Scope:
This evaluation covers work from September 2022 to mid-2026 in 12 priority countries (Colombia, Ecuador, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Morocco, Pakistan, Romania, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Vietnam) and includes activities in Canada and Switzerland.
What’s Expected:
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing developmental evaluations, with experience in mental health, particularly in low- and middle-income countries
- Work closely with the GCC and Fondation Botnar evaluation teams
- Answer initiative-wide evaluation questions (outlined in the Bid Solicitation)
- Conduct in-depth case studies and in-person visits
- Include local evaluators from the priority countries in the core evaluation team
