SocialSwitch is a school-based innovation that will be piloted in four lower-secondary schools in Tangier and Larache. It addresses cyberbullying and unhealthy recreational screen use among students aged 12–18 by strengthening peer belonging, trusted-adult support and help-seeking.
The intervention combines three components: 60 trained peer mentors—15 per school—providing first-line support and activating adult safeguarding pathways; a confidential WhatsApp helpline managed by trained adult moderators; and a 10-week, youth-produced “phone-reset” challenge using short videos and class-based gamification. Eight teacher champions—two per school—will support the peer mentors, reinforce digital-wellbeing practices and handle safeguarding escalation.
