kHEALTH

Kajou will train and equip Community Health Workers (CHWs) to become mental health ambassadors in their communities through kHEALTH, an e-learning solution and AI assistant for CHWs in West Africa, developed in partnership with Ministries of Health. The solution offers interactive e-learning modules in French and Wolof, a library of participatory activities to facilitate with young people (role-playing, discussion groups, theater, quizzes), and a built-in AI assistant capable of answering questions related to mental health offline and in local languages. Kajou reports that kHealth has already trained 7000 CHWs in Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal. 

Co-developed with young people who have lived experience, the project aims to reduce stigma, strengthen mental health literacy, and improve self-esteem through a community-based, inclusive approach tailored to areas with limited connectivity.
