CALMER-P

The CALMER-P Empowerment Initiative is a community-based project aimed at reducing substance use among teen mothers in Koidu Town, Sierra Leone. The intervention will apply the CALMER-P framework, a 7-pillar psychoeducational model, to establish a scalable, trauma-informed approach that prevents substance use and fosters resilience among teen mothers who are high risk for substance abuse, depression and anxiety. This model will be delivered alongside entrepreneurship training in local business development, budgeting, and storytelling to empower teen mothers further economically.
