REThink for Mental Health of the Youths in Romania addresses bullying and its long-term impact on emotional well-being. Built on Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), the REThink platform combines engaging digital games and apps with evidence-based therapeutic strategies to provide accessible, preventive mental health support for youth, parents, and educators.
With Transition-to-Scale funding, this project will expand and adapt four interventions:
- The REThink Therapeutic Game for adolescents (10–18),
- the REThink LIFE Game for young adults (18–24),
- the MoodWheel app for real-time bullying data collection, and
- The Rational Parenting Coach app is designed to strengthen parenting skills and children’s emotional regulation.
Across four phases—needs assessment, co-creation, efficacy testing, and scaling—the project team will meaningfully engage young people, especially those with lived experiences of bullying, alongside parents, educators, and community stakeholders. Through Living Labs, participatory design workshops, randomized controlled trials, and technology transfer planning, the project aims to demonstrate measurable reductions in bullying incidents, improvements in emotional resilience, and a stronger school climate.
By bridging scientific rigour with participatory, youth-centred methods, REThink offers a scalable model for preventive mental health that can be adopted nationally and globally.
