Rhea is a Research Lead in the Mental Health Team at Wellcome Trust, a global charitable foundation supporting science to improve health outcomes. Wellcome’s mental health programme is focused on creating a step-change in early intervention for anxiety, depression and psychosis, and Rhea leads Wellcome’s strategy to find new and improved non-pharmacological interventions for mental health. Prior to this role, Rhea worked in Wellcome’s Policy Team where she led projects in a range of areas including workplace mental health, understanding the barriers to research driving action, and supporting mental health leadership in Africa. 

Prior to joining Wellcome, Rhea worked at Mind, a UK mental health charity, and she has a background working in policy and influencing roles in local government and the charity sector. Rhea also recently completed a Churchill Fellowship, looking at what the UK could learn from other countries’ approaches to suicide prevention, with a particular focus on Japan.
