Dr. Marcia Brophy is a child psychologist, global mental health specialist and has worked in the mental health arena for over 25 years. She is especially skilled at developing innovative practical programmes underpinned by scientific evidence, and has substantial international experience developing culturally sensitive programs, staff training and mental health guidelines for UNICEF, UNHCR, Save the Children, International Medical Corps, ChildFund International in post conflict settings and fragile states in the Middle East, North and East Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe, as well as high and middle income / resource settings. She is UNICEF’s Mental Health and Psychosocial Support and Innovation Specialist, part of the Mental Health Leadership Team, UNICEF HQ.
Marcia holds a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the Institute of Education and the Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Research Centre, Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College, London, U.K. respectively. Marcia is a fellow at the Young Foundation, and a trustee of Jaya Mental Health.
