Nos Ecosystem Catalyst (EC) Grants help scale youth-led ideas, remove barriers to mental health prevention and promotion support, and test how youth-led innovation can work within and improve existing systems.
Ecosystem Building in Indonesia
While Indonesia has a strong national mental health policy framework, consulted stakeholders pointed out its implementation is hindered by decentralization, with varying governance structures across regions and localities. To ensure the effective execution of youth mental health initiatives, a coordinated approach to multi-stakeholder engagement at regional and local levels is crucial for alignment and accountability.
The Ecosystem Catalyst Project
AVPN will focus on strengthening coordinated action by key stakeholders and piloting accountability measures for Youth Mental Health policies by identifying systemic barriers, mapping key stakeholders, and co-creating culturally appropriate accountability mechanisms.
Through strategic alignment with national ministries, expert guidance, and multi-sector collaboration, the project seeks to pilot and refine practical tools that enhance transparency, responsiveness, and coordination across the mental health ecosystem in Indonesia. Additionally, they seek to:
- Catalyze eco-system wide collaboration and unlock funding opportunities for youth mental health across SEA through policy recommendations.
- Build foundational understanding of the youth mental health (YMH) policy landscape in Indonesia by identifying key stakeholders, existing accountability mechanisms, and implementation gaps.
- Co-develop and pilot culturally appropriate accountability tools endorsed by key government stakeholders, based on consensus from the initial roundtable.
