The innovation is family- and school-based, specifically targeting adolescents and their caregivers in Hoa Binh Province. It uses interactive theatre as a transformative approach to foster empathy, communication, and understanding between parents and adolescents. This participatory model engages both youth and families in co-creating and performing real-life scenarios, allowing them to reflect on conflicts, emotional needs, and healthier responses in a safe and creative space. Moreover, teachers, social workers, and community leaders will encourage the use of this interactive theatre approach in their work.
The project will test the effectiveness of interactive theatre as a tool for improving family functioning and youth mental well-being when adapted to a rural Vietnamese context.
