Il est \u00e9galement professeur honoraire au Alan J. Flisher Centre for Public Mental Health (CPMH), du D\u00e9partement de psychiatrie et de sant\u00e9 mentale, \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Cape Town (UCT). Il a suivi une formation de psychologue clinicien \u00e0 l\u2019UCT au milieu des ann\u00e9es 1990 et a ensuite particip\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9laboration de normes post-apartheid pour les services de sant\u00e9 mentale, pour le minist\u00e8re national de la Sant\u00e9. Il a travaill\u00e9 pour l\u2019Organisation mondiale de la Sant\u00e9 (OMS) de 2000 \u00e0 2005 et a \u00e9t\u00e9 consultant aupr\u00e8s de plusieurs pays sur les politiques et la planification en sant\u00e9 mentale. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 membre fondateur du CPMH et en a \u00e9t\u00e9 le premier directeur de 2010 \u00e0 2017.
